| According to Priyadarshan, making a non dancer like Vidya learn Kathak was a big challenge. But Vidya worked very hard. Initially Priyadarshan had thought of Aishwarya for the role, but later when he saw Munnabhai and Parineeta, he was convinced that Vidya Balan should be playing the role.
