"Priyan and I click very well!" - Akshaye Khanna
By IndiaFM News Bureau, November 25, 2004 - 06:39 IST
This man lives in class of his own. Not the one to run the rat race, Akshaye Khanna is still regarded as the finest actor the new decade has seen. Women love him, directors repeat him and Hulchul co-star Kareena swears by him.
The reclusive actor in a casual chat with IndiaFM speaks of Hulchul as a wholesome entertainer and promises to leave you laughing in the aisles…
You are known to juggle various roles. How different is Hulchul?
I wouldn't say that Hulchul has something daringly different to offer. No. But what it promises is great entertainment. The film has comedy, action, drama and romance. It's a masala movie and a full-on timepass. You'll love watching it.
Akshaye, how tough is it to portray humor on screen?
Bringing any emotion on screen is tough. And yes, comedy even more. Timing is the most vial element, you either have it or you don't. Besides, great comedy also depends on the way the scene has been written, the way its been shot and edited. All of it contributes to creating humor.
The Kareena-Akshaye jodi will be a first. How was Kareena to work with?
I have known Kareena as a child. Our friendship runs back a long time. I have been a fan of hers since Refugee. I believe that she is the best actor of our generation. And I am sure you'll love her work in Hulchul.
You have repeatedly worked with Priyadarshan. What was it like this time around?
Priyan and I share a very good rapport. There's a lot of give and take between us, right from Doli Saja Ke Rakhna days. We click very well, the very reason that we often work together.
Venus has produced the film. So, can we expect some super tracks from the film?
To say that Hulchul has great songs just because a music company is backing it is being unfair to a talented musician like Vidyasagar. He's a huge name down south. And post Hulchul, I am sure Bollywood will wake up to him too!
How do you think the film has shaped up?
Great! I am very positive about the film. I think we have a good product at hand and audiences are sure to take to it!
