Koena on the Khiladis this Friday
By IndiaFM News Bureau, November 16, 2005 - 00:41 IST
Gorgeous ghodas, straw n champagne, sexy sirens & leathered pecs
Bet your luck, but Feroz Khan is Bollywood's original cowboy.
While FK Jr. is laidback, limber and brings a 'lax' element to screen
Provogue or not, beta too has his zipper style on.
And the duo come together this Friday with Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. We talked to the leading lady Koena Mitra about the charismatic Khans. And the Bong actor scratches surface to go beyond style…
FARDEEN KHAN
“The guy has an attitude problem, so STAY PUT!”
This is the warning that I was issued. So I came on the sets with some reservations. But I am thankful I played by my instincts instead because Fardeen is the most no-hassle person I have come across! He comes on the sets, does his job, packs and leaves, exactly what I would have expected of my co-star.
Also, I had made it very clear on Day 1 itself that I am just a film old, so please feel free to correct me whenever I falter. From that day on, the guy was very supportive and encouraging. He would point out my slip-ups, the way to hold a gun, so on. What I like best about FK is that he is not a selfish actor.
It's all thanks to the rapport that we share that I was able to pull off the steamy sequence between Fardeen and me. You got to have a comfort zone or less it begins to get very ugly. Being a stylish guy, he has an eye for aesthetics so while filming the song, we simply sailed.
FEROZ KHAN
“He made me feel like a Princess!”
“Oh, what do I say about Khansaab? He made me feel like a princess” enthuses Koena. “The world knows him as this uber cool, style icon but there is so much that goes into making a success. And I am glad that I got to know him. Ferozsaab is an extremely chivalrous man. He can charm the pants off any person.
He used to pull out chairs for me, come up and wish 'Good Morning' all that but what I liked best is that he was so clued into work. Even while I was giving my solo shots, he used to watch me on the monitor and pinch out goofs. He said, 'Koena, I'll decide your best shots'. He not once made me feel that I was a rank rookie standing in front of a legend, none of that. He travels light.
And this I'll remember, he told me, “Koena, you are a natural”.
KAY KAY
“His talent scares me!”
I have to mention Kay Kay here because he is the most competent actor I have met. The man is so thorough about what he is about to do, he amazes me. All along the shoot, he knew his lines, his co-actors and everybody else's too! His talent scares me! Being a theatre guy, he has that extra edge. But he was never snooty. And not once threw around an attitude. Instead Kay Kay would tip me on how to go about with my voice and other nuances. There is a lot one can learn from him.
SUPARN VERMA
“If you like me, you have liked Suparn!”
“How can I leave him out of my list? Suparn has been a scriptwriter hence he knows to tell a story. That is almost half the battle won. He worked on me extensively. From script sessions to getting me into the skin of the character to my body language, he minutely monitored each of it He has contributed a huge chunk to my performance. So if you like me in the film, you have liked Supran too!” the Bong beauty smiles. “When I saw the rushes recently, I realized that we have made a smart film. It's crisp, fast and edgy. Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena will keep you on razor's edge.”
