A history of Shakti Kapoor's obscene behaviour
By IndiaFM News Bureau, March 15, 2005 - 03:13 IST
Actor Shakti Kapoor infamous for his notorious "casting couch" remarks against Bollywod Biggies has been unwelcome in South Africa for a long time.
Kapoor had toured South Africa for a series of shows in the late 1980s with music director Bappi Lahiri.
At the inaugural show in Durban's Curries Fountain, special arrangements had been made for a physically challenged fan to meet him on stage.
Shakti, who stumbled drunkenly across the stage, toppled the girl right off her crutches. The tearful fan later said she never wanted to see him again.
This trend occurred at every one of the shows he performed here, with Lahiri later privately apologising to the organisers for the actor's actions.
But that was not the end of it.
At another show before hundreds of families, including children, at the Chatsworth Stadium, Kapoor dropped his pants when he launched into a verbal tirade against journalists.
Waving his bare behind at the audience, he said that was what he thought of one particular journalist.
Kapoor even issued serious threats to the journalist in question if he ever caught "her".
In India too, during the Item Bomb contest held in 2004, Shakti was caught making crude gestures and remarks to the participants. Pictures of him behaving obscenely with the participants were carried all over condemning his behavior.
