Karan: You were possibly the most irreverent guest on the show, do you plan to be the same tonight ..
Kareena: Ahh …Better … I think …
Karan: Alright then … should I just start … Tell me, its amazing your career graph … you are one mainstream actress who actually hasn’t given many successful films … but you have always managed to be in the top .. how do you explain that …
Kareena: Ahh… I don’t know Karan..I think it is the belief I have in myself… in my talent … and beside of which ..probably films doing well .. not doing well .. doesn’t matter … I think if you are talented you are here to stay .. I have consciously tried to do that, be it in Chameli, Yuva or Dev .. I have always tried to do some thing different in every film .. the rest is not in my hands … and also I think the easiest thing to do is to look pretty in a big project … and stand next to a big star and you are like in the hit picture package .. that’s not what I want to do …
Karan: Ahhhh …That’s a big … to all the girls who stood in the big picture with the big heroes …
Kareena: Not to all the girls
Karan: To a few of them .. We like that and I am sure there’s more coming ..Basically, you mean that you took a lot of risks … not only did you take risks but you also took on a few people …there was always lot of talk about problems with Shah Rukh, with the Chopras, with the Bachchans, and of course we sorted out our little thing on this very sofa… But when you look back … do you think all those news articles are justified .. and today is it all sorted ?
Kareena: I feel that firstly there was no problem with Shah Rukh and with the Chopras .. with Yash uncle .. I don’t think there was any issue .. it’s just that probably they felt that I wasn’t suited for the kind roles that were made .. and now in fact I will be working with them …
Karan: Yes .. you have a signed a Yashraj film …
Kareena: Yes ..its great … I have always respected Yash uncle and I think Adi is one of the finest film makers we hav e ..and I don’t know with Shah Rukh and me it’s been great .. whenever we meet he has been so very warm ..I love him .. I think we are all friends now … and as far as the Bachchan family goes .. I really don’t know what the issue is .. at least from my end there is no issue.. because I think I am bearing the brunt of something that I never really did
Karan: Basically all happy .. all sorted .. and all rearing to go
Kareena: Absolutely
Karan: Who are really your friends Bebo?
Kareena: laughs … Oh god!!
Karan: Because the whole story goes that Kareena only befriends people who are not a threat to her …
Kareena: Oh my god! What is this .. Ahh ….. I don’t think so .. But the only actress I think I am closest to is Amrita
Karan: Amrita who
Kareena: Amrita Arora … She is my only genuine best friend whose an actress..
Karan: You’ve been dating Shahid for how long?
Kareena: Over three years ..
Karan: Over three years …You think the relationship has changed you .. I think it has …
Kareena: Well yes .. he has a major positive influence in my life … He plays a major role ..
Karan: He has also made you vegetarian ..
Kareena: You are also vegetarian
Karan: Only for the year ..But you have become vegetarian for life .. that’s something no one knows ..
Kareena: Ya ..
Karan: And you hail from the Kapoor family … you are the only Kapoor who is vegetarian ..
Kareena: Ya .. my father is majorly upset ..
Karan: Is he horrified ..
Kareena: He is horrified in the sense that
Karan: I mean that in a funny way …
Kareena: Ekdum patli sukdi dubli si ho gayi hai .. why are you not eating the jungli muttons and I was like …that’s me now
Karan: Has he given up something for you ..
Kareena: Shahid .. Ah .. Well I don’t what him to give up something for me .. he is just amazing the way he is ..

Karan: Three years Shahid, with Kareena ..How would you best define your relationship?
Shahid: It goes beyond words .. She is the centre of my life .. I can’t think of a day without her .. I am very thankful to God for having her in my life … I think I am very lucky …
Karan: Do you remember how it all started .. anything funny of how he proposed to you .. or how he asked you out .. anything interesting to that .. or did you jump on him …
Kareena: Ya .. I think you got it right .. you know me too well..
Karan: You must have .. you must have made the first move …
Kareena: He did not even bother .. for two months I chased him ..
Karan: You chased him ..
Kareena: I was the one who was initiating with the SMSes .. and calls .. and kind of asking him that lets meet up ..he was a bit …
Karan: You were hard to get Shahid …
Kareena: It’s just the way he is ..
Karan: He is blushing ..So finally you got him …
Kareena: Ya.. finally we met up … it was me who made the first move and pushed the accelerator button …
Karan: I should ask you this (To Shahid) … Is she the hyper hysterical girlfriend .. Is she the where you are, what you are doing kind of girl friend …
Shahid: She has calmed a lot in the last three years .. but I think every woman has these insecurities .. and I think it takes the two people to understand and deal with each others’ areas of ups and downs .. but I think .. yes I am sure she has .. and so do I have these phases of insecurities which we all do .. I think she has come to trust me a lot ..it takes time for things to settle down ..
Karan: Because I think insecurities are very normal … you are working with the best of men and you are working with the best looking women ..but are there times when you get hysterical and ask him questions like .. did she look pretty today .. did she talk to you more today .. what did you do during lunch breaks … do you ask these kind of questions (to Kareena)..
Kareena: Ahh….
Karan: I know you do Bebo ..
Kareena: Ya .. I do sometimes .. because I know Shahid is a very good looking guy and his smile can charm a lot of women .. so I do get a little nervous ..
Karan: (Laughs) .. Are you nervous about anyone in particular …
Kareena: Ahhhh .. No .. I am not going to name them Karan … on camera .. off camera

Karan: Any insecurities about any hero she has worked with ..
Shahid: Ahh…….In the beginning yes … I was not insecure but wanting to know where she is, what she is doing do … we didn’t know each other too well … we came from different backgrounds … we didn’t have anything in common with each other .. we kind of were discovering each other .. but honestly our relationship has reached a stage where it will break if something goes wrong between us ..I don’t think anybody from outside can break the relationship … which if it happens … I am confident it will not ..
Karan: We are hoping for a fairytale ending …How difficult is it be faithful .. you’ll are very young ..
Shahid: If we love each other a lot .. I don’t think …
Kareena: Ya …not at all …
Karan: Not an issue at all ..
Kareena: No … I think it’s just over-hyped among people …
Karan: I think there have been dramatic changes in Bebo’s life .. for starters she is vegetarian … and also she has headed to a more spiritual zone … and that’s because .. you are tremendously spiritual .. and that’s something nobody really knows about .. how spiritual you are at a very young age ..
Shahid: Ya .. I guess .. it’s something very personal .. I don’t talk about it much … But, I have also changed with Bebo around .. I have become less boring …
Karan: Ya .. you were very boring before .. do you agree?
Kareena: Sometimes .. he still is ..he just sits the whole day and kind of just .. he is just obsessed with watching these high-funda English movies .. all these European movies .. which I can’t even understand ..
Karan: You want to watch all these masala Hindi movies every night
Kareena: Ya .. I want to watch Dhoom 2 .. that’s my kind of film …
Shahid: I think for Kareena .. she started off with 10 on 10 so I think it was important for her to see both sides …
Kareena: But even the side that I saw … it was just very strange .. my films were not doing very well .. but it didn’t do anything drastic to my career .. it was weird ..
Karan: You should have been off the map …
Shahid: Ya, but I think her performance really stood out .. always …
Karan: Look at that … such a good boy ...
Shahid: You can never see a film and say Kareena was bad ..
Karan: Hmmmmm ..
Kareena: Do not ask Karan this question …
Karan: One or two .. because I can see it .. I know her far too well…Even in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham there were these sequences where she completely over acted .. I still remember .. this really funny incident ..we had this funeral scene … it was Amitji’s mother Asha Sachdev … it was this death sequence ..a funeral shot … and I told Bebo .. you, Kajol and Jayaji have to cry .. and she cried and cried and she kept crying in the background ..
Kareena: (Laughs) … I was right at the back ..
Karan: And she had put tons of glycerin ..and she wept and wept … and then we packed up and I said good shot … she was walking to her make-up and she asked me, “by the way who died in the film” .. and I said you cried for the person you had no idea about ..
Kareena: I don’t what all the directors are going to think about me after this …
Karan: And I said it was Amitji’s mother in the film who died …So, she is like “who is playing this character”... and then she tells ,”Oh, I think I over reacted” and she went into the van …She didn’t know whom she was crying for …
Shahid: I hope that doesn’t happen in real life ..
Kareena: No
Karan: No, she knows whom she is crying for in real life .. that I can assure you …
Karisma enters
Karan: You take up for Shahid a lot... is that true?
Karisma: Yes I do .. don’t I .. (looking at Shahid)
Shahid: Yes
Karan: In what way .. what does he do .. that he needs taking up for?
Karisma: Well, I mean generally … when they are fighting with each other .
I am always caught in the middle of it .. and if I really feel that Shahid is right then I really fire Bebo …
Karan: You do ..
Karisma: Ya of course
Karan: They are quite a troublesome couple that way … vis-à-vis you ..
Karisma: Ya .. they are .. but I give them a lot of trouble as well..
Karan: Ya .. what kind of trouble do you give them ..
Karisma: Well …
Kareena: Advise
Karisma: Ya .. advise
Karan: I know .. Lolo is like the mother
Karisma: Ya .. kind of .. in the diplomacy department
Karan: So you would never answer in the rapid fire round the way Bebo did
Karisma: Well, honestly .. NO
Shahid: I don’t think anybody can … nobody can give competition to Bebo
Karan: But when I said troublesome .. I meant in a sweet way .. like now their vegetarianism must bother you …
Karisma: If I may say so .. Karan .. it does ..
Karan: Going out .. must be a problem
Karisma: It is a huge problem …I mean you don’t understand .. they should wear T-shirts which say ..”Does my food have egg in it” .. “we are egg less
people”. I mean we go out to restaurants Karan … that we go frequently .. may be 2-3 times a week .. but still Shahid will ask ..”Isme anda hai .. ye ice cream me
anda hai “.. Bebo will be like ..” Is there anda in the naan”
Karan: Oh God! They are that hysterical ..
Karisma: Give them a break .. you come here so often .. they know you don’t eat that ….its crazy .. but, its very sweet .. its very cute .. because they are so
honest in what they are doing … I mean they really believe in it …I mean Bebo was a pucca non vegetarian .. and to switch to vegetarianism and to not even egg .. its
incredible ..
Karan: Oh God! That is fantastic ..there have been lots of influences that Shahid has brought upon .. do you feel she is a new person in the last three years ..
Karisma: Ahhh .. Ya .. I think she is a lot more calmer .. and I think Bebo is also a great influence on Shahid ..
Karan: What’s the one change that she has brought on Shahid ..
Karisma: I think . Shahid has become a much more relaxed .. I mean you know he was a bit serious .. he is now also ..but, I think he is much more chilled out
now…
Karan: So, you wouldn’t mind if she eventually landed up with him seriously ..
Karisma: Yes … Absolutely .. I think they are both a great influence on each other ..I think that’s very important .. be it in any relationship .. its very important
to have a positive influence on each other .. and there should be friendship ..
Karan: Initially .. when you were told about Shahid .. what was your comment .. do you remember ..
Karisma: Ahhh .. I was like .. who is this guy .. I mean from where have you found him from ..I mean .. actually like any elder sister I was a bit weary ..I think
any elder sister would feel like that ..
Karan: Very protective
Karisma: Yes .. very protective about her ..And when I met Shahid .. I think our first two –three meetings were very stiff .. I was like Hello .. Hi .. How are you
..
Shahid: I was very scared of her ..
Karan: You were scared of here ..
Karisma: I know its very strange .. but he keeps telling me this ..
Shahid: Her chin was always up whenever she met me ..
Karan: You felt she was judging you whenever she met you ..
Kareena: But that Lolo’s nature ..
Shahid: I found her strict ..and I was like .. “Ok .. I hope she like me “
Karisma: I think we have a really struck a great friendship .. Shahid and I .. every time he calls me .. “ Can you advise me on this” or I call him .. “Shahid can
you help me out with this .. what do you feel” ..I think we have become really good friends now ..
Karan: That’s fantastic ..So you guys have lot of fun with each ..
Karisma: Oh yes ..
Kareena: Yes .. lots of fun .. But sometimes he gets bored with the girlies ..
Karisma: And I get bored with the eating ..
