dates…..only for India FM
DAY 2
- Day 2 was a tad better than Day 1 in terms of momentum and attendees but many still found the market cold. The market is expected to gain pace over the weekend with a large volume of
buyers usually making quick trips at this time
- The Indian Pavilion was officially inaugurated in the afternoon
- The official Cannes opening party was held at The Majestic Beach
- Television reporters from Indian news channels accompanied by their cameramen have been shooting stories from various spots around The Palais to capture the Cannes zeitgeist
- Variety had a party at The Mint, which went on till the early hours of dawn
- Interestingly, Bengali cinema appears to be turning towards Cannes as well. The producer of a low-budget Bengali film was walking around, trying to get a feel of the festival because she
intends to take a stand in the Marche Du Cannes from 2008
- A number of film commissions are wooing Indian film producers to shoot in their countries............. the result is that champagne lunches at various country booths in The Cannes Village
are abounding
