5 of 5 people found this review helpful The first half sets up the atmosphere and the mood for a even better and funnier second half. But unfortunately the second half slightly disappoints. The pace dips, the jokes are no longer as funny as they were. The introduction of a few more characters in the latter half too does not help.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful While the first half sets the rhythm for a laugh riot, its the second half which tends to go overboard with its scenes innovatively ripped from old Hollywood comedies, quite close of Bean’s expressiveness.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful There are many instances where the jokes have been heard before, but the improvisation is laudable. Like the scene when the four try to sell off a painting with the horse eating grass and end up with a blank frame. "The horse ate the grass." they say, “and he left soon after,” explaining the painting.

In sum, Dhamaal isn’t exactly what the title promises. But it does have its laugh-out-loud moments.. it’s not bad at all. Go ahead and try.

Some of the gags were sadly derived from jokes that I first heard when I was ten, and have been deleting as e-mail forwards for the last ten years. On the other hand though, caricatures of some of the side-side-characters were outright hilarious and acted out really well too.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful This one is what many would call a 'clean' comedy, mainly because lack of any female lead and sexual innuendo. But clean doesn't always necessarily mean good. DHAMAAL has it's moments but on the whole it's juvenile and relies too much on farcical comedy.
