1 of 1 people found this review helpful Unlike any other thriller, Woodstock Villa has no pleading eyes, tears or bound wrists. The film unfolds as a web of deceit and lies.
Woodstock Villa breaks the cliched murder mystery with every twist, and keeps you on the edge of the seat.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful The first part is more absorbing than the second though, with the second half becoming kind of predictable. The only distracting element in the film is when the director forgets his film and suddenly realizes that this is supposed to be the launch vehicle for Sikander and goes about creating all kinds of effects around him, basically ensuring that he gets enough footage...

0 of 1 people found this review helpful It doesn't help that the actors look totally out of place. Sikandar tries way too hard to show off a striking screen presence but fails. He doesn't fall into the category of naturally talented actors and has al long way to go. There are also traces of a raw Abhishek Bachchan, his good friend...

The subject of movie is off beat, which will appeal to only a particular segment of viewers who love thrillers. But its business at the box office could have been better if it had not clashed with the semi final and final matches of IPL over the weekend. An average fare.

The film takes off with the kidnapping of a successful businessman's wife (Neha Uberoi). The businessman (Arbaaz Khan) is soon threatened by the captor (Sikandar) for a heavy ransom. Things go wrong as the lady is murdered by someone and the captor in a fix buries the body. Soon things start to reveal itself with the re-appearance of the damsel...

0 of 1 people found this review helpful The film does pick up towards the end, but the damage has already been done. Audience have lost interest in the plot, in the narrative, in the characters and in the film. The four or five songs only serve as deterrents to audiences interest. Imagine, there is no response even to Sanjay Dutt's song.

The best thing about director Hansal Mehta's Woodstock Villa is that it's only about an hour and a half long. And for the first hour and fifteen minutes, nobody knows what's going on in the film. Nobody but the characters in the film, I presume.

0 of 1 people found this review helpful Sadly not. Woodstock Villa gets off to an impressive start and the first half somewhat manages to hold the viewer's attention. All that, however, gets undone post-interval, as unwanted twists, irritating songs and clichés galore ruin the overall impact...

Woodstock Villa is director Hansal Mehta's attempt to replicate the film noir technique. But the attempt is woefully short on imagination and lacks bite. Mehta's film is dark and dank and thoroughly unexciting. The plot is basically a pooling up of various threads from different Hollywood thrillers. Maybe that's why it just doesn't make any sense.

0 of 1 people found this review helpful Sadly, WOODSTOCK VILLA has none of these attributes. Though it begins well and holds your attention until intermission, when the pieces begin to unravel you say, "Is this what it is?" Hansal Mehta has no clue what he is up to. All he knows is that he has to help Arbaaz Khan cover up his wife's death.

The next morning his wife disappears. Arbaaz receives a ransom call. He informs the police and efforts are made to trace the kidnapper...

In case you don't make the connection with the title, be informed that like Emraan Hashmi the camera keeps going kiss-kiss-kiss. Whoa, the camera smooches a signboard saying WOODSTOCK VILLA...
