0 of 1 people found this review helpful There's nothing to watch in the movie. There's no cinematographic brilliance to be seen. No direction or art direction to look out for. Even the once hot Garam Masala girl Nargis has put on weight. And since she can't act anyway the least we expected was a washboard tummy which is sadly no more.

This begins when a foreigner known as Judy comes across a prostitute named Pranali whose husband is writing a book on her life. Then the movie goes into flashback: In a famine hit poor village, the parents of a little girl (Pranali) get convinced by a priest to allow their daughter enter into the system of Devdasis.
