2 of 3 people found this review helpful The basic premise of the film is engaging enough with its suspense-thriller setup. The screenplay adopts a blitzkrieg technique of uninterrupted bombardment of a series of scenes that are high, both, on the shock value and realistic treatment...

1 of 1 people found this review helpful It has no pretty faces, no foreign locations and definitely no sprawling sets. Well, it was after all no Yash Raj movie. It's a movie about this one man Aamir Ali and Mumbai.

Rajeev Khandelwal has an incredibly compelling screen presence, and is consistently so natural that the fourth wall breaks on its own, and your identification with the character is complete...

Aamir comes as a complete surprise and emerges as the true winner of the week. Aamir is definitely a must watch and proves that a good film in bollywood can indeed be made without songs and without any big names...

"Aamir" is a rare film, which provides us food for thought without burdening us with sermons on the quality of existence. The thrill element presides over the message. The disturbing undercurrents just flow out of the story with a virile fluency.

From the moment Aamir (Rajeev Khandelwal) touches down on Mumbai's international airport, what assails you is that overpowering sense of an individual's struggle to survive in a pitiless and often unforgiving city...

The movie is not depressing, disturbing or devastating. It's just about life in Mumbai told the way it is. And that is what will leave you a little…edgy. You'll probably consider resettling if you're a Mumbaikar, if not, it won't matter.

This is a good film but has been made keeping in mind discerning viewers only and will appeal to them in multiplexes. The film has a message to convey and succeeds in that but box office success is a different matter altogether.

Movies of this genre are made to inspire the audience. And usually they end up inspiring by a long, unwieldy sermon in the climax. But here, since you are so in tune with what the character is going through just by seeing him, you start thinking how you would react in that situation.
