While Contract may not be as good as Company and Satya, it is a compelling and engrossing watch. You need to pay attention to all the double crossing, to understand the movie. The background score is particularly good and the songs are catchy too, even the item song Rabba Khair kare is not incongruous...

Contract makes tall claims of exploring the nexus between the underworld and terrorism (the most likely match, so where's the surprise?), but there's very little scratching under the surface. It's actually just a well-made thriller...

Contract is essentially about a war between two underworld gangs. He tries his best to relate the two -- the second half may even take you back to the serial train blasts two years ago -- but RGV is on familiar ground...

Primarily the film is such a drab leaving you nowhere. Majority of the sequences and occurrences in the film make you wonder whether it has really been done by Ramgopal Varma or one of his so called 'chelas'...

There's much blather about politicians organising riots before elections..you get the drift. Besides one straight cop, everyone on this planet is BAD, BAD, BAD...

Contract, which opens at cinemas this weekend, is a third-rate gangster film that suffers from a huge Satya hangover, but that's not even the most embarrassing thing about it...
