Your eyes have been closed and you have asked just to
listen to the songs. You are not told the movie's name
and the star cast is not revealed as well. The songs
are played before you and the question is that whose
territory do the songs belong?
The songs go like this-->
Name of the song : Ta thaiya ta thaiya
Singers : Preeti-Pinky, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shaan
Lyrics : Tum chai ho to hum pyaali hai, Tum rail ho to hum
patri hai
Name of the song : Chori Chori Tera Chalna
Singers : Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik
Lyrics : Tera chalna item hai, Tera rukna item hai
Tera mudna item hai, Tera hasna item hai
Tera nakhra item hai, Tera jalwa item
hai
Name of the song : Style Nasha Tera
Singers : Udit Narayan, Babul Supriyo, Sunidhi Chauhan
Lyrics : Nasha tera sar chad kar bola, khul gayi dil
ki file.
Name of the song : Sajanniya Re
Singers : Babul Supriyo, Sunidhi Chauhan
Lyrics : Sajaniya re chad gaya pyaar tataiya, Utaare
naa utare re
Kaante kaante re kate kate ye tataiya, Utaare
naa utare re
You don't need need to be a Einstein or a Nostradamus
to judge it in one single attempt that the songs could
belong to none other than Chichi bhai's movie. No
offense meant to Hero No1's movies and music, but
here we are talking about the predictability that
comes along.
Coming to the movie, Aamdani Athanni Kharcha
Rupaiya (AAKR). It is a quickie that comes from the
house of Padmalaya. It is a film about four middle
class couples - Govinda-Juhi, Chandrachur-Tabu,
Vinay-Isha and Johny-Ketki. AAKR is about how these
couples manage their lives with a limited source of
income - a problem that is faced by millions of
couples around the globe. An attempt has been made to
portray this point in a lighter vein by K. Raghavendra
Rao - the director of 'Himmatwala'.
There is much expected from Juhi after her brilliant
comic timing that was on display in 'One Two Ka Four'.
Here, she plays a bespectacled middle class woman and
from the promos so far, it looks like another chirpy
performance from her.
Music composer Himesh Reshammiya has earlier given some
entertaining music in 'Dulhan Hum Le Jaayenge' and has
contributed to the music of 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya',
'Jodi No1', 'Bandhan' among others. Sudhakar Sharma
pens the lyrics.
As it can be made out from the lyrics, 'Aayee Hai
Diwali' is a Diwali celebration song set in the basti
where the four couples live. A horde of singers -
Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Shaan, Alka Yagnik, Sneha
Pant and Ketki Dave sing this one. Although a
situation may have been created in the movie to lure
family audience, the chances are bleak that people may
really rush to the theaters for this very song. Ketki
Dave's crooning of 'Aa ra ra ra' may be accepted by
her female fans in TV Serial 'Kyoki Saas Bhi Kabhie
Bahu Thi'. But the similar interspersing here is
nothing but 'irritating'. It would be a surprise if
even her fans show some liking to this.
The title song is one track that is humorous and talks
about the day to day problems of a typical middle
class family. It is sung by Udit Narayan, Shaan and
Johny Lever. It has funny lyrics and holds your
attention till the end. The picturization is hilarious
too and suggest the kind of humor as was witnessed in
the movies of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu
Chatterjee. This number has good chances of becoming
popular (or is it popular already?)
'Ta Thaiya' deals with an ego clash between a man and
a woman and is again set in a lighter vein. Naughty
vocals of Preety and Pinky make the song passable at
least. 'Sajanniya Re' takes you back to 'Coolie No.1',
'Raja Babu' and 'Saajan Chale Sasural' days. There are
two numbers 'Chori Chori' and 'Style Nasha Tera' that
fall exactly into 'Tapori' category (We are being
served enough of Tapori songs ..aren't we? Just listen
to the ones in Style, Khullam Kulla Pyaar Karen etc.
etc.) 'Chori Chori' is just about average. 'Style
Nasha Tera' should be popular among the masses who are
the target audience for this genre of music.
Don't look for traces of any high quality or class in
the music of AAKR and you won't be disappointed. AAKR
just manages to be a time pass score - nothing more,
but PROBABLY less.
