“Rules (Pyaar Ka Super Hit Formula)” is a light look at the game of love. It is an attempt to re-mythologies the notions of romance that have been built through films, novel, songs and clever marketing over the years.

Radha (Meera Vasudevan) lives with her grandparents in Mumbai and is the young assistant to renowned fashion photographer Uday Singh.

She has had a crush on the famous supermodel Vikram Verma (Milind Soman) since she was 14. Vikram has ruled the fashion world for 10 years and now ready to move on beyond the arc lights – but his girlfriend Maggi (Namrata Barua) is keen on a career for both of them in films. It is at this stage that they shoot an advertising campaign with Uday Singh.

When Radha finally meets the man of her dreams, her world is changed overnight. She falls desperately in love with Vikram and is miserable as she feels that she has no hope of ever winning him over.

And then – her grandmother (the inimitable Tanuja) comes to her rescue and give her the Rules!

The Rules of Attraction are the subliminal code of feminine behavior – honed over generations of courtship and romance.

Radha's grandmother has filtered its essence into the 5 Rules of attraction, which she gives to Radha.

Radha is overjoyed to see that the Rules really work. As she uses each rule she gets closer to Vikram, but when she finally succeeds in winning his affection, she realises the deception in what she has done. She sees the Rules as manipulative and opts out of the relationship, leaving Vikram completely bewildered.

The story set against the backdrop of the glamorous world of fashion, uses vox pops to stylize the narrative into a definitive and humorous discourse on love.
