Yashraj films are known for their music n this one is no exception. Tashan is a winner all the way. The album has an earthy n pacy feel to it. Its different - and in a good way!
The album kicks off with 'dil haara'. By far the most original composition of 2008 and the best song of the album. the song is a blend of sufi rock n indian raaga. sukhwinder singh was the most obvious choice n he does full justice to the song.
Next up is 'chhaliya'. this song is ordinary in terms of composition but it is peppy so it will pick with audiences well (kareena shaking to the song will be helpful). sunidhi does her job well yet again but the surprise package comes in the form of piyush mishra who sings 2 very catchy lines of this number. this song should work well along with its video.
A typical yashraj song comes in the form of 'dil dance maare'. this one is fast, peppy n very catchy. udit narayan is back n does full justice to this track along wid sukhwinder n sunidhi.the songs moves on a very original beat throughout n it wont be much of a surprise if it starts playing in ur neigbourhood someday.
'falak tak' again is a very melodious track. we have seen vishal shekhar do soft numbers before but this one outshines them. a track tailor made for udit narayan. it is a soft romantic number which adds a different genre to the album.
'tashan mein' is strictly ok. it is a typical vishal shekhar number with western beats n instrumentation. vishal croons this one effectively.
the 4 dialogue tracks are just teasers to increase the excitement of the audience who await this yashraj film.
all in all tashan is a very different album. a must buy.
