It's becoming a trend to rework on path-breaking films. With Farhan Akhtar deciding to remake the Big B hit DON [with SRK], P.N.C. keen to remake SAHIB BIBI AUR GHULAM and J.P. Dutta planning UMRAO JAAN [with Priyanka Chopra], film-makers are seeking inspiration from yesteryear hits, thus signaling the birth of a new trend.

He made waves when he made IS RAAT KI SUBAH NAHIN. And now Sudhir Mishra has decided to remake the film he made almost a decade ago. "Prakash Jha is producing the contemporary version of IS RAAT KI SUBAH NAHIN," Sudhir confirms, "But the new avtaar will be different. While the original version was a dark film, the new version will be a contrast -- a light entertainer. We are experimenting with the same subject."

For the two vital characters in the film, there's talk that Sudhir is contemplating signing two mainstream actors, Akshay Kumar and Shahid Kapoor. "Nothing is confirmed yet, besides the script. But there's no denying that we are looking at casting top names," he seems tightlipped.
