Another star-kid enters!

Here’s a major scoop and, as always, it’s on IndiaFM first!
After Amrita Arora’s exit from VICTORIA NO. 203, producer Kamal Sadanah and director Ananth Narayan Mahadevan have found the replacement for
Saira Banu’s role in the remake. It’s Vinod Mehra’s daughter Soniya.
How did Soniya step in? “I’d like to thank Anupam Kher for it,” producer Kamal Sadanah tells me, “Anupam-ji was aware of the developments [since
he’s also acting in the film] and he suggested her name. She has been trained in London and also at Anupam-ji’s acting institute. We immediately
organized a screen test and realized that there couldn’t be a more appropriate actress for the role in question.”
Kamal speaks highly of Soniya’s acting abilities. “She’s the Kajol of today’s generation. She’s got the confidence, the charm, the innocence, the
talent and her screen presence is outstanding. Having worked with Kajol in our debut film BEKHUDI, I can gauge the potential of an actress. When I
compare Soniya to Kajol, I am not making tall claims. This girl is a tremendous actor,” Kamal adds.
Is Soniya bound by a contract? “Her first release will be VICTORIA NO. 203. But she’s free to sign new films,” pat comes the reply.
