Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor and actress Sridevi are to be honored with the ‘FICCI Living Legend in Entertainment’ award during the annual convention FICCI Frames 2008, that’s to be held from March 25 to March 27 in Mumbai.
Rishi Kapoor (son of the great Raj Kapoor and grandson of the legendary Prithiviraj Kapoor) made his acting debut as a child artist in Mera Naam Joker. His first film as a lead actor was the smash-hit Bobby in 1973 opposite Dimple Kapadia. Some of his other popular works include Karz, Hum Kisise Kum Nahin, Saagar, Kabhi Kabhi, Deewana, Damini and Bol Radha Bol. In the recent past he was seen in supporting roles in films like Fanaa, Hum Tum and Namastey London. Last year (2007) was a special year for him as his son Ranbir Kapoor made his debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya. In fact Rishi was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the recently held 53rd Annual Filmfare Awards in Mumbai.
Sridevi on the other hand has been acting from a very small age in films of various languages like Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi. Some of her most prominent roles are in films like Chandni, Lamhe, Sadma, Chaalbaaz and Mr. India. She is married to noted film producer Boney Kapoor.
The pair (Rishi & Sridevi) who starred together in the super-hit Chandni will be presented with the award on the last day of the convention. Last year this very award was presented to two superstars Kamal Hassan and Rekha.
